I am not an automotive engineer or professional detailer but I have owned many vehicles ranging from 50 year old 150,000 mile plus to brand new luxury. What I see in many of those pictures looks like excessive wear and damage, not things falling apart. If there is uncleansable dirt adjacent to damaged trim, it’s usually wear and tear. Puncture holes in upholstery just don’t randomly happen even with the crappiest materials.
Sorry OP your thread has been officially hijacked. But your interior pictures show the contrast between a well-kept black interior and an abused white interior.

It is a widespread issue in my car on every single surface at this point. You can see on my instagram if you’re interested. I think the issue is that most people aren’t actually looking as closely as I do because we maintain ours so well. I bet if you go look you will see peeling and bubbling, especially with Ocean Coast. Even the dark trim I have friends with the same issue it’s just much less noticeable.

No way this is caused by an acute act of negligence on any driver’s part. It’s literally every single surface of the vinyl interior.

How much plywood have you been hauling in there? This isn't bubbling; this is extreme wear and looks like abuse to me. My truck has 30K on it, and nowhere is this sort of wear evident. I don't haul rocks or rabid badgers in mine, though, and I don't rent it out on Turo. Rental cars are notoriously abused, and you have the balls to claim it's Rivian's fault?

Maybe buy vehicles you can afford to own without having to rent them out, and then you can keep them nicer.

Shocking, no hauling wood or barbed wire. Just a piece of sh!t vehicle made by a company that has no idea how to run a business. Mine has 33k miles. Talk to me in 6 months…

Hahaha - also, paid cash for mine. Tell me I can’t afford it. It’s rented very few times because we charge a high fee. I have a 2018 Tesla with over 100k miles that’s carted my 5 kids daily and the white vegan leather is prefect. I have a 2019 VW Atlas with ~120k miles that we legit could give 2 sh!ts about and the interior looks nothing like our Rivian.
Tell me I’m poor. I own our Rivian and other cars outright. The car is the problem. Look at the other photos I posted.

I haven’t seen any complaints about peeling seats. Perhaps the product you’re using to clean them is causing the problem.

It’s not what my professional detailer is using and has used on my 2018 Tesla and 2019 VW when they’re perfectly fine…

Because it’s falling apart so I’m going to wait for Rivian to fix it and then get rid of it as quickly as humanly possible. I’m not taking the hit to the tune of $20k because they sold me a piece of garbage. I’ll get my recovery through arbitration plus my legal fees and then I will sell it.

But, other consumers should be aware of the unethical practices of this company. Their stock is basically at an all time low for a reason… I’m a lawyer and will recover my own time and effort for this absolute nonsense but others aren’t so lucky.

The only thing trash is the way you take care of your stuff. Mr. Rental car is complaining about how his belongings are handled when he literally loans them to strangers for money. Maybe you should have saved a little bit of that cash you used to buy these cars, so you wouldn't need to collect rental fees for them.

No vehicle I've ever had looks like that, because I don't rent them out for people to beat the ever living shit out of.

I've had a Rivian since '22. My first one had almost 50K on it with several cross-country trips. My new one has 30K on it and is a 2025. Neither one has an interior that looks like yours, because I don't put my shit on Turo.

Hmmm… again, I think our car has rented on Turo a total of 45 days in all these years at $200+ per day with intense documentation. There has been damage caused by renders that was fully covered through Turo. This progressive degradation is not the result of our extremely rare Turo rentals. The car has 30k miles and even if I was transporting plywood, it’s an adventure vehicle, it’s rugged, it’s built for offrlsdkng… but treat it like a Bentley.

I love idiots who don’t understand law and think their stupid car is a status symbol. Pathetic.

You're the only one who's mentioned status. I just think you have to be a real dumbass not to realize that renting a car causes it to break down faster. Your interior looks like you shoveled gravel inside your R1S. This is well beyond normal wear and tear; it's carelessness. Stop blaming other people for the terrible way you treat your things and take some personal responsibility.

Puncture holes and dirt stains are not a sign of poor manufacturing. They are, however, indicators that excessive wear-and-tear on piping in adjacent are likely due to mistreatment.
