I see no posts so I thought I would post my first road trip after 2 weeks of ownership.

For Thanksgiving my family went snowboarding and skiing at Whistler Blackcomb.
We left Seattle on Wednesday afternoon at 100% in nice 50F weather. I switched to Conserve as soon as I entered I-5. Traffic sucked until we escaped Marysville. It was a breeze after that.
I wanted to experience fast charging so stopped at Electrify Canada in Squamish. I tried 3 of the 4 stations until I achieved charging. Even then it wouldn’t accept RFID tap of CC. I needed to insert and use chip. Started at 36% and saw constant 150kW on 150 station during 9 min session.
Whistler has no true fast charging. Only 2x 50kW chargers in Convention Center parking garage and multiple 6 kW public charging stations in the ski area parking lots. We stayed near Blackcomb base not too far from the only free station at Lot 6. Overnight parking is not allowed so I did 2 sessions: 5pm to 11pm (44kWh) and 6am to 3pm (58kWh).
I drove home today (45F) in Conserve and arrived home with 26% left. I am happy with the efficiency (2.11) considering the temperatures.
First road trip impressions:
Comfortable to drive (did not feel tired after)
Not the best drivers seat but acceptable.
Biggest vehicle I have owned so appreciate the lane keep warning ( most of the time) and appreciate the overhead view when squeezing into parking spaces.
I prefer auto cruise to full highway assist. Can you change lanes without it disengaging?
Whole family loves Wi-Fi hotspot. Works in CA! It turns off when you cross border and needs to be manually turned on again.
My son loves back seat (2nd row).
I put seats down on drivers side. Center including armrest drops with it robbing my son of cup holder.

Whistler charging infra sucks I agree. I do want to add tho it has a free access 72kw 150kw supercharger and 15+ destination chargers in the fairmont. I use our lectron adapters there.

(Free-ish, sometimes their ticketing system breaks and you need to pay cad 10)

The convention center CCS only has 2 stations and nabbing one with no wait requires luck

@EchoDelta I assume you have to be guest at the Fairmont, right?

@Cascadian supposedly no, but it’s super volatile depending on the level of lack of understanding of the people at the parking valet and the ones doing the help desk of the parking fence

Thanks for the write up! We are headed to Whistler early next year and your post was just what I needed to validate my plan!

@Cascadian, at 36% in Squamish, it seems you could have made it to Whistler with a reasonable margin. True? I have been debating dual performance vs. quad (and all terrain wheels vs 22”) with Seattle to Whistler trips in mind. Would be nice to know I could do it with the quad/AT combo without a charging stop if I had to. Do you recall what your m/kwh was on the trip up?

@CMH See my new post about my second trip in much colder weather yesterday. Only 1.67 miles / kWh. Stopped in Squamish for a boost.

I’ve gone couple of times with Quad/ 20 AT, but have kids so a peeing stop along the way is a nice opportunity to recharge a bit.
I got the 20’wheels - for winter/snow driving, I expect the snow tires to actually have higher efficiency.
