Well, that was interesting. Driving home from a store, going 60mph, and the radio cuts out seconds before both the driver screen and center screen go blank. The Rivian symbol comes up on the driver display and the speed indicator comes up showing my speed… but I have nothing else. I contemplated pulling all the way over quick, but I sit in the right hand lane ready to pull off but driving functions seem unaffected in the moment. Screens slowly seem to blink and refresh and stuff starts coming back up on the display. Center console seems to come back after the driver display.

Got home fine, but that was disconcerting.

Is this similar to the issue you experienced on your trip out west?

Not exactly… during my trip, the screens just wouldn’t give me any accurate battery info. This was everything going blank in the middle of driving as if a system reset had happened. I wasn’t doing anything to reset it, just driving along.

I half expected the vehicle to be non responsive and start slowing down…. But within seconds I realized that it was still responding to my pedal inputs, I just had no information except speed.

To be clear, I didn’t even have speed till it seemed to blink a few times. Everything else took longer to come back online by the time I got home.

My 1969 Chevy Caprice did that. Everything blacked out. Oh, wait, that was me driving home after a big party.
I sure hope this is one-time system re-set. finding a wiring short would be a bummer.
I'm glad it turned out OK for driving.
