No date just yet, but I’m in the 8 or 9 step process right now. Just uploaded the insurance and financing docs.

you must have yours on same barge... have you received the texts about getting the processes done? Anybody have issues with registration or at the DMV?

I spoke in person with the delivery manager in Honolulu about this since I want to handle the registration myself on Kauai. He said that’s how nearly all his deliveries in Hawaii have gone with no problems.

In the absence of Riv Guides, he and their small team at the temporary delivery center will be the one reaching out to each of us.

Just got word for a June delivery.

Hopefully I'm in June as well. Started the purchase process, just waiting for a wheel swap to get correct pricing. Financing through my credit union, approved with 3% apr, not bad, better than Rivians 7%. I thought all vehicle manufactures registered the vehicles in the county where they are sold, and we just re-register in the county we ship the vehicle to ourselves. I will check with the DMV here on Lanai to see what kind of documentation would need to register myself here, maybe easier, or cheaper? I'm ready though, another 4-6 weeks, yay!

@JOSH565 have you prepaid already or waiting until pickup?
JOSH565
@goducks I was planning on taking photo of the check and uploading to the purchase process.

Yep, got a text this morning, my R1S has left the west coast, and should be available for delivery in June. Was told I would need to self register the vehicle myself. Anyone know how that works if I’m taking delivery in Oahu, and then bringing to Young Brothers for delivery to Lanai. Do I register in Oahu first then re-register to Maui County when it gets here?

Should just bring all your paper work to Maui DMV. Gotta do the whole Fail the safety check, get it registered, then go back to get safety again at same place. I’ve had to do this a few times with imported cars.

HI wants it registered in your home county. Be sure to have your Young Bro’s papers, to show exactly when it arrived in Hawaii.
JOSH565
@Riptide Thanks for the tips, I’ll be sure to save all my documents from Young Brothers.

My first hurdle is if my credit union will cut a check without a title with lien. Apparently you don’t get any of the paperwork needed from Rivian to self register/title, until 7-10 days after you take delivery. Spoke to someone on the Rivian team today, and he mentioned that some in Hawaii that are trying to finance with there credit unions are having some issues. Credit union has approved me the funds, I need to wait for branch manager to return next week to see if they will write a check without them on the title right away. If not I will finance through Rivian, and see about refinancing with my credit union when I get the title.

United States Senant FCU is who I used, they were recommended in these Riv forums. The loan officer was acutely aware of the Rivian purchase process and made it a breeze.
