Feels like we have enough members now to start a conversation about New England events and concerns.

I think there should be some simple rules for this group.
  • Issues general to EVs and Rivian vehicles should be posted elsewhere but issues with Chelsea SC are fair game.
  • Issues with charging and EVSE operators are not needed here but I think we should feel free to discuss EVSE throughout New England (especially issues related to reaching far-flung parks in the middle of EVSE deserts, like northern Maine and New Hampshire, or alerting each other new stations, outages, or improvements).
  • Above all else, meet-ups and events in New England are the prime topics for this group
  • Rivian sponsored events in New England are also reasonable here.

Just found this group today, so sorry if this is old news to some but a service center will be opening in Canton, MA and the Chelsea location will remain from what I read. At least the new location will not require the same hassles as getting to Chelsea, but no date on opening yet. This was discussed on the Rivian Owners of New England FB group.

By any chance have you heard an update on the opening for Canton? I have a handful of small things that need to be addressed and am dreading having to go to Chelsea.

I haven’t. Last I heard was when I was in Chelsea getting new wheels.

Rivian has been busy here in New England— new RAN stations and a new show room. I’ve heard nothing of a new service center.

The R2 and R3s are expected at the Boston show room in a couple of weeks. Beer we could find out at that show.

I was at the Newbury St location for a test drive last weekend. They indicated that the fact that the Canton location is now on the Rivian site, usually means it's pretty soon. Couldnt get any more details, but my impression was it was a couple months out, if not sooner. The refreshed 2025 R1T's are very nice. The first couple year depreciation on new is just rough. Being year end, they are all about incentives on current inventory right now. I'm leaning towards a 2022/3 at the moment. As far as future incentives go (like the deal they offered over the summer with employee referral discounts), they basically just said keep an eye out quarter by quarter for new incentives.
