Anyone in here change out tires yet? I'm running the Pirelli stock AT tires. I'm at ~21k miles and the road noise is just crazy. I noticed it earlier, but it's incredibly loud at this point. I've been considering a change already, but I'm just curious if anyone changed out and if so what you went with, recommendations, where did you go to have them swapped out, etc.? I don't really off-road but I personally like the look of the AT tire and frankly with the roads around Milwaukee I might as well consider it off-roading. Over 2 years of ownership I'm at a 2.11 efficiency with the AT's, which I consider to be fairly good for ATs, so anything in that ballpark is good for me. I'm also just curious if anyone has had other AT tires on and do they simply wear with the same road noise in the end as well? Hopefully the WI hive mind has some experience to share. Thanks.

I can’t speak to the 20” AT tires, but I swapped out my 21” Pirellis for 21” Michelin Defenders, with the hope of getting better tread life. Very, very happy with them, but obviously do not have the AT look.

As for location, I went to Discount Tire in Waukesha, though they have a Brookfield location now as well. I brought pucks with me, but they had their own.

I should add that I have AT tires on another vehicle and it’s common for AT tires to get louder as they wear but some brands are worse than others. I’ve heard bad things about Goodyear tires in particular. Right now I have Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT on my Range Rover and they’ve been great, but aren’t worn enough to really evaluate if they’ll get louder over time.

I put BFGoodrich KO3's on my R1T last November. Efficiency took a slight hit overall, but they performed really well over the winter (much better than the stock pirelli's). They don't have the same "droning" noise that the Pirelli's had though I"m not sure if they will as they wear down. 4K miles on them so far. I had them done at Discount tire as well, but one just over the border in IL as it was closest for me.

I'll second Discount Tire in Waukesha, put on new 22" tires in the fall.

Had a screw in the tire a few weeks back which was causing a slow leak, they patched and plugged it for free since I got the tires there.

And I just went there again today for a tire rotation, was done in less than 40 minutes. They're good!

I'm having new tires put on at Discount this Friday. I ended up going with Toyo. I cannot tell you how much I debated tires. A stupid amount is all I will say. That being said, any experience with Discount I should consider since it seems like some of you used them already? Did you bring your own pucks?

They had pucks at the location I went to.

Yes, they've got their own pucks.

I'll be getting my tires rotated on Friday, maybe I'll see you there :-D

@Shill2801 our paths did not cross. It was a good experience overall. The new tires are great so far. I'll need to give it a year to see if there are any efficiency changes, but I suspect it will be the same. I got 2.07 on the Pirellis which was better than I expected if I'm honest. Hopefully the Toyos are similar or better.
