I was thinking of getting a RS1 for Maui. But concerned about servicing on Maui and longterm viability of the company.

I've had my 2022 R1T here since 2023. I've had two mobile service visits (one initiated by Rivian for the 12V battery). Mobile service tech is excellent. I have two service tickets coming up that will be handled by a Rivian approved auto shop - one for my suspension and one to replace my tonneau cover, and both are known to be common issues for early R1Ts.

There are tons of Rivians here. The company has substantial support from VW and will be on solid footing if the R2 rollout goes well.

I just had excellent service for two issues. Rivian has been great for me on Maui - see my recent post for details.

I was worried about service too. I live on the big island. When I first received the car there was a small list of things that needed servicing. It took two visits to clear the issues. Since then I haven't had any problems.
