This is the clubs first off-roading day-trip and will be an easy starter with optional more difficult side paths for the adventurous. We will be going to Santiago Peak of the Saddleback Mountains at 5,689 feet of elevation and the highest point in Orange County, with 360° views of all four surrounding counties and the ocean out to Catalina Island. For those that want to meet for breakfast beforehand we will meet at the Great Maple restaurant at 9 am in the Fashion Island shopping mall, which has fast chargers. If not feel free to meet at the trailhead at 10:30 am.
After which we will meet at the Maple Springs Trail head at 10:30 am where we will air down tires and prep for the trip up through Maple Springs Road. Planned depature from the staging point is 11 am. The trip should take about 2 hours each way for a total round trip of 4 hours. Once at the top we’ll take pictures of all the vehicles lined up. If you have any recommendations or add-ons to this trip please free to contribute. Keep in mind this is just the first trip and we plan to do many more of these in the future.
