Hi All. I have zero experience and am wondering what minimum requirements anyone could recommend for these excursions.

I have an R1S Launch Ed with quad motor and set of ATs and plan to get either a full sized spare on hitch mount or compact spare. I did not get the RUS, but I am debating EVsportline or DCE sliders, as the Mrs wants the step anyway. Is that overkill for these kinds of trails?

@Vegas_R1S These trips have no requirements and are meant to be at a level that any RIvian can achieve. We hope you will join us for one of our trips. All levels of experience are welcome. We love to teach as much as we love to learn. Rock sliders are more for rock crawling. These trails are not that aggressive. For example if you Google King of the Hammers out in Johnson Valley that would be the more extreme occasion that would require those. We just updated the event with a video previewing the trail if you’d like to see for yourself.

Thanks for the info. Yes looks like I’ll be fine with the ATs and no shielding. I will be coming from the Palmdale side and charging there. I will shoot to be at the trail head from 9-9:30 just to make sure I’m not late. How is the cell reception? I did just get a pair of GMRS radios just in case.

You lose service going through the canyon to the trailhead. No cell service on the way up but at the top it’s intermittent. At camp there’s service. I have TMobile so experience may vary.

We are meeting at the Walmart Supercenter in Santa Clarita and all driving to the trailhead together. There’s no staging area at the trailhead, why we’re meeting at Walmart. We can air down and etc at Los Cantiles Group Picnic Site but it’s closed so we can’t muster there for long.
