Hello everybody

Im in the Military and im being stationed in Stugartt and I have a couple of questions.

1. Are there any Rivian service stations in Germany, if not how are you handling service and repairs?

2. How is the infostructior for charging stations?

3. Anything else I should know before I bring my vehicle over?

Thanks in advance for your help

Greetings from Stuttgart! As a German citizen, I will try my best to answer your questions, although I don't personally own a Rivian and haven't seen one around here yet.

1. Service: As far as I am aware, there are no dedicated Rivian customer service stations in Germany (only a few locations for the Amazon electric vans). However, specialized shops like EV Clinic or e-mobilwerkstatt.de might be able to help you if you run into any issues.

2. Charging Infrastructure: The charging network in Southern Germany is excellent, with plenty of both AC and DC chargers available. You will definitely need a compatible adapter. Depending on your driving habits, it’s worth looking into subscriptions from major providers like EnBW or Ionity to save on costs.

3. General Advice: A few things to keep in mind: You might need to modify the rear turn signals to meet local regulations. Also, pay attention to the vehicle's weight and dimensions. The legal limit for a standard driver's license is 3500 kg (approx. 7700 lbs) total weight, this includes passengers and cargo. Additionally, the size of the Rivian can be tricky in Europe; I’d recommend avoiding any parking garages (Parkhäuser) and city centers.

I have read that a few other Rivians are already driving in Europe. You might want to try to connect with them for more specific owner insights.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! I’ll do my best to help

I'm military station in Stuttgart with my Gen 1 R1S. Since you are under SOFA Status no need to change rear lights. Chargers are everywhere but I carry about €300 worth of adapters. Biggest problem is European chargers are phase 3 while the Rivian only accepts phase 1. Service is non-existent, Rivian flat out refuses to support those in the military. I have talked with a gentleman in a Baltic country who has imported a number of Rivians and is able to service them. He is my go to if I have a problem.

Hi - I have an R1S in the states and have reached out to auto-mandt.com. I’ll let you know how it goes. If anyone has any other shipping/homologation companies they can refer that would be great. We are shipping from Los Angeles.
