My normal method to induce the error is to confirm the Rivian is pulling 48 amps by either checking the dash or the app (~10.6kw on the app) and then commence charging the second EV. Normally instigates the 7 red blinks every time. Not today!
Tried going both ways, my R1T charging first...
Additional update from my status: I just had mobile service out to take a look. Of course, I couldn’t reproduce the issue with them here even though the issue is normally easy to reproduce AND it just happened the other day again.
Using the tech’s gen 1 R1T, I also could not induce the issue...
@Lester Green that is a disappointing and seemingly uninformed response. The EV doesn’t need to support Tesla group power sharing in order to use it; the EV only needs to be in spec with NACS/J1772 pilot signals.
I suspect whoever from Rivian told you that was referencing Tesla home power...
@Lester Green, update: I just went out to reproduce our shared issue (reminder, we have the exact same problem) and lo and behold, I can not reproduce it anymore. I tried everything, the Rivian would not fault out the UWC. With my MY not connected it was pulling 10.6 KW and upon connecting...
I now realize this happens even if my Tesla MY “wakes up” while connected to the G3 WC with the R1T charging on the UWC.
@Lester Green any updates from your Rivian service request? Mines gone quiet.
Update: I have now tested with a non-Rivian non-Tesla (Chevy Volt) connected to the UWC. Connected first and commenced charging at about 7.6 KW. I then connected the Tesla MY to the G3 WC. The MY commenced charging at a load shared 24A. The Chevy continued charging at a reduced current from...
@SANZC02 good suggestions! I'm recruiting my EV friends to come by when they can to see if I can reproduce the fault without my Rivian in the loop.
I have tested the reverse connection as you suggest. If the Tesla MY connects/starts charging FIRST and the Rivian connects/starts charging...
I also put in a Rivian service request. The initial tier that called me to discuss was not knowledable about EV charging and kept telling me that if my Rivian works on other chargers then it's not a Rivian problem. They also offered to put in a "feature request" for future vehicles. I don't...
Update: I have factory reset and re-comissioned the UWC and the G3 WC. UWC is set as Leader; G3 WC is set as Follower. Both are set for compatibliy with all vehicles. Both were commissioned for a 60A circuit and the Group Power Share is set for 48A max group current.
All systems go on the...
@Lester Green , I have this exact setup and this exact problem. I have also tried switching leader/follower and placing the UWC in compatibility mode. I also have no problem if I set the Rivian to 24 amps. Anything higher than 24 amps and the UWC goes 7 red as soon as the Gen 3 draws current...
AM is working again in my R1T. Or rather, I can at least play music. Still laggy and the search function took several attempts to return results. But light years better than the beginning of the week.
I also have all of these Apple Music problems. Soft/hard resets and logging out don’t resolve anything. Only home wifi results in Apple Music functioning. Even on home wifi, playlists don’t sync.
I also have Tidal. It plays more reliably than AM right now. However, it is also having...
