Well, I just had that drain valve replacement at a SC appointment last month. Apparently, it is a new thing they are doing. The new HVAC unit they put in mine still had the old valve design. I would think OP needs the new HVAC unit and the new valve.

This exact thing happened to me last summer. It escalated over a matter of hours to the point that I had a bricked truck and required a SC tow. Mine was the HVAC issue. The techs knew exactly what it was before they even got it off of the tow truck. The subsequently replaced the entire HVAC...
