I’m in the nothing camp. For my wife and I, the R1T is perfect. I’ll wait for a Gen 3 R1T update. I still have a Day 1 R2 reservation but most likely will pass. Now, R3X..absolutely add to the family 🎉

Don't forget to include cost of living. I live in NC with friends in CA so we have compared cost of living in the past. They need to make ~3x what I do, due to cost of housing, etc. So salaries, etc are relative to where you live, but harder to compare across this vast country.

I think the best rule of thumb is ABC. Always be charging, or what I mean is, if the truck is home, plug it. We keep ours daily at 60% SOC in the summer and 70% in the winter. We're on our 2nd R1T and have 34k on this one. Rivian did a proactive 12v replacement this past summer on ours...
