FYI - Canvasback has the R1S product line available to order on their website now… see link below. Optional items (bumper protector, side door protectors, third row seat arm rest covers, frunk shelf cover, etc) are all listed on the bottom of the web page...
Chad Raskovich - Rasky’s Detailing… he has had a detailing business on the side for many years and recently (~2 years ago) started doing PPF install as he thought he could do better than the PPF work he saw being done in the Twin Cities… he’s a great guy and a fanatic when it comes to this...
I took delivery of my R1S on 9/15 (ECG, BM, 22" SBs, UBS) and, as noted in previous post, left it last week with Canvasback in Long Lake for them to use to develop their cargo liner product line for the R1S. This week it is getting full PPF (Xpel ultimate) and ceramic coating. I'll post some...
I picked up my R1S from Canvasback yesterday - the team there is super nice and were really excited to have it for a few days to develop the pattern. They did it in black with yellow stitching to play off the yellow accents of the Launch Edition… I think it came out great. Attached are some...
Drop on Tuesday went fine - we walked through the vehicle in detail. I left it with them as I had to go out of town and am planning to pick it up tomorrow afternoon. They sent me an email today saying they have it completed… not sure what that means in terms of when they’ll have it for...
Will do… I’ve got a yellow lab and it takes me about an hour to vacuum the hair out of the back of my X5 when she’s back there (I don’t have Canvasback in that)!
I just emailed her and offered mine as a test mule. I took delivery of my R1S on Thursday and live about 10 minutes from them. I’ve used their products on a couple of my wife’s Acadias over the years and they worked really well. Will let you know what she says as well as timing.
I’ve looked at the Nokian options and have been considering them. I agree that their performance on snow and ice will be better than the 20” ATs; however, I have other uses for the 20” ATs that will likely make them a better option, year round, for me than the 22”dedicated winters. But if all...
I’m with you - have winter wheels/tires on all my daily drivers… even if Rivian traction control can work magic accelerating on snow and ice, it’s can’t do anything to help with braking, which is even more important from a safety perspective. So, I’m going to get the 20” ATs for winter.
Yeah - I was actually pleasantly surprised by the pricing. As you note, the Pirellis are $400 each, so $800 per wheel seemed pretty reasonable given lack of other options.
With respect to wheels, yes, my reference to anthracite is to the 20” all terrains with the floating staple look you describe (See below). The $1,200 cost is for each wheel and tire combo, so 4 wheels and 4 tires total $4,800.
I'm a 2/14/19 reservation holder for R1S, LE, ECG, BM, UB shield, 22" sport bright.
My updated delivery window is August-September and received first guide contact and email to lock configuration on 8/30... after doing so, received 8 step email on same day.
My guide told me on 9/2 that my S...
