  1. R2 non-powered frunk is a mistake?

    Great idea... engineer 👍
  2. Rivian on Jimmy Kimmel :)

I would guess most of JK's followers are in large metro areas across the US where brand awareness would be much higher than say a place like Emporia, Kanas. Of course, I could be completely wrong 😏.
  3. Front End Air Suspension FAIL

Perhaps a silly question and obvious to others, but what does Rivian consider the "effective date"? I assume it is the delivery date i.e. when you take ownership? That would make the most sense. However, best not to assume (I'm sure you all know the saying......).
  4. 500-800 miles from Service Center......from those with Rivian experience....how risky will this be?

I agree with JoshO. The reports you read in the forum on issues tend to fall in the minority column, IMO. I think the majority of owners find their Rivian just as reliable and trustworthy as any other EV or ICE vehicle. Sure, SC location my be different for other brands, but if it is not your...
  5. Mach2 Single Bike Rack – 2″ Hitch – LV (Longer Version)

I know you’re asking about the R1T tailgate but for what it’s worth, you can lower the R1S tailgate with the rack installed. The rack has several tilt positions. It is designed to tilt even while bikes are mounted. So I can open the tailgate with/without my bikes mounted by tilting the rack.
  6. Mach2 Single Bike Rack – 2″ Hitch – LV (Longer Version)

I wasn't aware you could easily remove the batteries. That makes sense though. However, removing the saddle could prove problematic unless they have devised a solution that assure the owner exact position upon replacement.
  7. Dynamic Glass Roof Crack

Not Acura MDX's. We had to replace one windshield/yr (6 windshields total) when we were driving from western Oregon to Central Oregon every weekend from November through March. It was awful. Insurance covered it but I was always nervous about leaks. Prior to driving the MDX, we drove a 4...
  8. Mach2 Single Bike Rack – 2″ Hitch – LV (Longer Version)

Yikes, that is major, especially for 3 bike... almost 50%. I think some EV bikes weigh over 80 lbs. so even one tray is borderline. The sum of my 4 bikes weigh < 75 lbs so I am obviously well with the limits of either rack (although only have one extension tray for a total of 2 bikes). I...
  9. Mach2 Single Bike Rack – 2″ Hitch – LV (Longer Version)

Yes, sorry, I never paid attention to the weight limits since all of my bikes would be well under it. I do recall reading that they will handle eBikes which are by far the heaviest. But like you said, since they are no longer available, it’s pretty much a moot point.
  10. Mach2 Single Bike Rack – 2″ Hitch – LV (Longer Version)

I don’t have the new “long version” but I do have a Mach 2 Std length (original) and I can report it works just fine with my 2025 R1S. When installed so that the spring loaded safety pin is in the hitch hole (see pic), there is about 3/8” clearance between the rack and the bumper (see pic)...
  11. Why can't we lower the vehicle when in park?

Well for what it is worth, I tried my 2025 R1S this morning when I needed to unload a heavy tool box from the rear. So with the rear hatch open (both the hatch door open and tailgate down) and with the vehicle in "P" the "Kneel" option was active. I was able to put the vehicle in kneel mode...
  12. What Did You Expect To Use… But Actually Never Do?

I never use the dynamic glass roof feature. I thought I would need it to help shield additional sunlight but the standard glass is more than adequate. I’ve never used gear guard.
  13. Love my R1S, but frustrated by a "Principle of the Matter" Service Issue (Stuck Charging Cable)

I'm with you, it's the "principle", not the dollar amount. At least they could acknowledge their mistake, even if they don't refund the money. Having said that, don't lose sleep over it if they don't make good. Your "mental health" will thank you.
  14. Gen 2 HVAC Service Campaign / Recall

Funny story completely unrelated (well sort of....). Our 2009 Prius has had a dash rattle since day one. Shortly after getting the new Prius, we discovered a huge manufacturing quality issue once the winter rains started. It turns out during manufacturing they didn't properly seal the spot...
  15. Gen 2 HVAC Service Campaign / Recall

My 2025 R1S was just in the shop for warranty work (replace chrome trim pieces) on 3/24 and the SC reps didn't mention they would also like to do a preemptive inspection of the HVAC system for liquid leaks. They are usually good about these type of things. I was also scheduled to have the 15k...
