It seems then that if you want to be comfortable with a Rivian then the R1S is the one for you. It’s too bad the R2 doesn’t have that feature but the company needs to stay solvent and cater to the 90%.
Thanks now I feel ancient! It’s like people who have never used an actual computer and grew up only with tablets and iPhones.
One pedal driving is awesome.
To a degree all EVs have significant efficiency hits at highway speeds. The rated range is in mixed driving where you can regen a lot. Highway driving long distances is constant high speed with less regen so you will be unlikely to hit the rated range. Just plan to get 60-70% of the rated range...
You won’t get an avg charge rate of 284kw in an r1 (the only way to get 71kwh in 15 min) since it maxes out at 220-230kw and that’s with a close to empty battery. Above 50% it will likely derate to about half the max rate. Not sure how you are calculating your charge curve or range but your...
Opposite for me. I live in Southern California where half the street names are Spanish and it’s infuriating the nav voice tries and gets it wrong. I prefer the English-sized pronounciations so I’m not guessing what mispronounced street name they are trying to route me to.
Correct! The higher tread depth of new tires increases rolling resistance as well so all new tires will have an impact on range. As the tires wear down they will come closer to the stock tires range.
Pricey and that’s why it is optional, people who want one pay for it. Otherwise good luck with a can of fix-a-flat and your AAA card. Let’s just be happy Rivian even offers a spare tire option.
One thing I wish is that the second row slid back more to improve legroom with the third row folded. As is the second row is ok but certainly not what I call stretch out comfort. The height off the floor does help with actual legroom.
Ride is better than the stock Pirellis even with higher pressure. Excellent wear. The E load tires have a 55,000 mile warranty but I’m at 15k and hardly noticeable still at 13/32 all around.
I have those tires. Just make sure to use higher tire pressure due to the higher E load rating. 60-65psi will give you the same load capacity as the stock HL tires at 48psi.
