Hydro flask trail series is the best! It is insulated but very lightweight relative to other insulated stainless steel bottles. Fits in both cups holders and side doors...
I had my HV battery replaced on my R1S. It died out of state and Rivian towed it 1,200 miles back to my local service cetner. They were overly optomistic about delivery times of the new battery pack and their abiltiy to get it swapped out. They told me the slow down in installing was caused...
I think you should spin your question - it is less about "costs" and more about whether you are willing to be patient, if need be.
Any 'problem' with the production of the car is covered by Rivian. I think any R1 buyer should go into their purchase with a willingness to be patient if needed...
If it were me, I would save the $5,000 on the performance unlock, and instead get the 21s that come with it, and then buy another set of 20” AT wheels/tires from the gear shop. That way in the summer you can have the most efficient tires, and in the winter you have tires that will be better in...
I think there is more upside in having two wheel/tire sets vs. having the performance unlock.
If you are comfortable changing your own tires, you can roll with the 21s in the summer for long road-trips and in the winter put 275/60 r20s tires on 20in wheels. Then you never have to worry about...
I would suggest saving your $5,000 on the performance (which is just a software unlock) and instead start with 21s, and then when/if you need more tires get the 20" AT from Rivian. You will use the extra 'performance' <0.01% of your total miles. Plus it makes people car sick.
Rivian mobile service came to me and they installed in my garage. Maybe that was why I got charged an extra $200.
They never offered me coming into the SC which I would have done.
I have the Tesla Universal Wall Connector to future proof when a future EV I own or a friend/family visting has a NACS plug. This gives me one charger to charge different types of cars. It has a built in adapter on the charger which is really convenient. I’ve never had any issues with it - it...
I'm coming from a Lexus GX with large all-terrain tires, which I really enjoyed. They gave me a sense of stability and traction on the road, as well as confidence when driving off-road. This is especially important since I don’t have a spare tire (yet - maybe?) for my R1S.
I also prefer the...
I got charged the same fee on the 20"s I just purchased. Here was what was on my invoice:
- Center Caps: $140
- Wheels and Tires: $3,940
- Wheel and Tire Assembly: $80
- Modify Vehcile Wheel and Tire Configuration: $120
+ $244.80 in taxes...
So the labor costs were $200 in total. Note...
Just installed the cargo crossbars on my R1S. I’m getting a pretty loud whistling sound that occurs right over the passenger seat. Only really happens between 25mh-40mph, which is most of my city driving.
Does anyone else have this problem? Anything I can do about it?
In my view, an additional $5K in a software unlock might not align with practical considerations. The added performance is utilized minimally, probably 0.1% of total mileage, and this acceleration makes passengers car sick anyway.
If you are after the exhilarating acceleration, opting for a...
I had a post-price hike reservation. Ultimately went with a used quad. Couldn’t be happier with my decision. I bought for $84K and it was cheaper than the dual with longer warranty.
I think paying an extra $5k for a performance unlock on the dual is BS. I really only see two choices. If you...
