Wonder how much/if the price will increase when Lidar hardware is added later this year.
R1 "pre-order" to the infamous March 1st price increase for the masses was substantial. If memory served me well it was around 18%!!!
This is a good observation. When I was reading the specs of the harvester option when released I either didn't see or glossed over anything mentioning bulking the chassis.

Personally I think you're absolutely right. EREVs do not make sense and I have no idea why people "switched" reservations to the harvester version. I actually did the opposite (had the traveler harvester pre-ordered for the wife), once they released the specs and I realized how small the battery...
I halfway agree though am not ignorant to the fact that fossil fuels will continue to serve a prominent purpose for the next century, there will be a technology leap before then (I hope) that will push towards something better.
The half I disagree with you is the leaps and bounds. At this stage...
These are always things to think about but almost impossible to calculate. For instance where do you stop? To even digest things like rare earth habitation loss, transportation costs of said materials vs oil extraction, transportation and the eventual massive tanker spills every year (though...
As curious as you seem to be I'd imagine Google should be a close friend....but lmgtfy

Makes sense for smaller SUVs and the upcoming R2 but I was specifically referencing the R1's. Here's a comparison for what I/we drive. Please note this is a Gen 2 Dual Motor R1T, I think it has the lowest C2G, please correct me if another version is lower.

Rivian R1T...
Cradle to gate emissions analysis where some state up to 100% more to manufacture! Don't negate other points that are indirectly related to not just Rivian, but all EVs.
Def not environmental impact, b/c as previously mentioned I do not think BEV's are the answer, esp not Li-ion, and in my...
That is a lot of much(es)...lol.
I'm not just referencing the fueling of the vehicle but all aspects. The "carbon" it costs to create a BEV is astronomically higher than an ICE vehicle. Longevity is also a current issues (maybe LFP can slightly mitigate some of this loss), EV throwaway is a...
