  1. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

Update. I had not heard from the SC or manager for a week. My appointment is on the 16th. I decided to visit the SC yesterday (April 7th) and find out what they would do for me. I'm over 2 hours away (each way). In my case, they would offer me ride-share credits. Approximately 100-150 $. But...
  2. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

I would expect the SC to operate on a P&L basis. Managers might have compensation tied to the P&L. Also based on customer satisfaction (subjective) and service vehicles processed, time to process, (objective) etc. Rivian would want SC not to lose money. The element they have the best control...
  3. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

They should want their SC managers to take calls. That gives direct feedback. I ran a large service organization, and customers and potential customers could call me. I'm afraid my situation calls for planning. It will give me only 1-2 days to plan for an alternative, book a hotel, or rent a...
  4. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

Update. Conversation with Service Support Specialist. I have not received any communication from Tualatin SC for the past week. The Phone number for Service in Portland sends me to the general service number. The information I received yesterday is as follows (summarized): Vehicles kept for...
  5. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

@Dave Cundiff , the message was written by the service tech at Tualatin. I got his email the last time I went to the SC. I didn't want to mention his name in the thread. If you have other contacts at Tualatin, I'll contact them.
  6. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

It is at their discretion that they provide a loaner. There is no guarantee. There is no policy, I'm asking Rivian to clarify. The message in my service thread said no rental because under 48 hrs. I then wrote to the service technician at Tualatin (whom I met at the last service), who wrote...
  7. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

Hi, Do you have anything in writing about the "standard policy" being Uber/Lyft credits? I can't find anything published on the internet. And AI didn't find anything either. Thanks,
  8. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

I think part of the JV agreement includes milestones, which, when met, result in direct investment in Rivian. Also, Rivian has access to a $1b loan from VW. I read Rivian gets a 450m equity investment after the first car from the JV is sold. I think VW is committed to Rivian. And yes, agree...
  9. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

I've been wondering the same thing. VW has invested in and bought into Rivian. A natural step would be to leverage the VW service network. A training program would be much cheaper than building, staffing, and finding service centers.
  10. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

I owned the Tesla for 6 years. I'd be very happy with a rental car! I'm not happy about not having a rental car and waiting 3 months+ for an appointment. I've been very patient with Rivian. The truck has had 10+ service incidents in 3 years. I've owned most brands in the past 40+ years. I...
  11. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

I'm a fan of my R1T (2023, 68k miles). But the service continues to be unacceptable. Long wait times, even when I lived in the SF Bay Area. Up in Oregon, it is worse. And now, they don't provide alternative transportation unless they keep the vehicle for 48 hrs. (Loaner or Rental car). I live...
