I just put some Defender LTXs on my Gen 1 R1T Quad. 1.6 mi/kWh driving from SLC to Reno yesterday haha. But into some pretty bad headwinds and also probably averaging 85mph. Hoping to see some better range at CA highway speeds and less wind!
Tesla lets you read and dictate text messages from their OS without using Siri or CarPlay (obviously). Honestly it's kind of nicer than CarPlay because Tesla will actually show the text of the message in the UI (though arguably less safe).
What you're missing is that the flattest part of SLC is 4200 feet, I live at 5200 feet on the Wasatch bench. So I have to descend/ascend another 1k feet, and also the whole thing isn't a consistent linear gradient, you get to the top of parley's summit and then there's downhill which you regain...
Ok this is a little crazy... I drove from my house in SLC to Park City over the weekend and back. There's about 5k elevation gain over the round trip. Done in conserve on 20" AT tires.
They probably wouldn't do it by VIN or delivery date - they'd want as random a spread of cars as possible, so in the first batch they'd want both early builds AND recent builds. They probably pick some other random data point to group the batches by unrelated to build date to ensure random spreads.
I traded in a late 2021 MYP for my R1T (with double paned glass), definitely didn't have the noise/rattles you're describing. I think the R1T is still a little quieter, but not by such a wide margin.
Incidentally, my R1T actually had a bunch of rattles at delivery that they've since fixed.
I know people hate Musk, but I'm not sure why this statement is that offensive. He isn't saying Rivian is going to die, but that they're on a trajectory to do so unless something changes. I find it hard to argue against this - they're losing a lot of money. Sure, cash assets and runway are a...
Ok update on my test. Left my truck garaged for 36 hours. Started at 70%, ended at 67%. This is much better than I was experiencing before. 1% every 12 hours is acceptable. It's still a lot of energy to be using, but it's livable.
Something I noticed: I checked on my battery a couple times...
I'm out of town for work until tomorrow night, so I unplugged the truck this morning and we'll see how much we lose over the course of ~36 hours. Will update!
Edit: I am also on the latest software update now.
