Thanks for your kind words, @mkhuffman.
I haven't engaged with the substance of the arguments (on either side) at this time. The exact R2 mileage/efficiency/range aren't deal-makers or deal-killers for me. I agree that incomplete data, or data limited to a narrow range of circumstances, are...
@ksurfier is well known and respected here, @Jeremy3292. If you choose to respond, please deal with his arguments and with his conclusions. Please avoid insinuations and personal attacks.
Thanks so much!
When a cat does something clumsy, it is likely to look around and give everyone a look that some interpret as, "I meant to do that." Often it works....

What's wrong with a two-tone grey?
I suspect they could move these vehicles at a modest discount. I bet the needed discount would be less than the parts and labor cost of fixing each vehicle.
Best to all!
I think Level 1 is the way to go in most airport parking lots. Everyone benefits, because many more cars can be served and many cars are there for >24 hours.
Best to all!
Thanks so much, @bhopkins!
I just opened the EVgo app, opened the triple line in the upper left, and deleted the vehicle we recently sold. That should prevent this problem for me. I wouldn't have thought to do this without this thread.
Best wishes!
For me, @RivianDD, the 24/7 human phone service at (855) RIVIAN-5 has been FAR superior to my experience with any other vehicle manufacturer.
When we don't understand what's happening, we call (855) RIVIAN-5. Most issues are worked out right away.
Our R1's have always remained operable...
Regardless of whether one shares or doesn't share @badger4149's political beliefs, personal insults should never be used in this forum.
If you've got an argument, make that argument as cogently as you can. But don't insult people who believe and argue differently.
Thanks for considering!
I've driven maybe 500-600K lifetime gasoline-vehicle miles, and I haven't had a vehicle fire since 1979. I question the figure of one fire per 18,000 miles for gasoline vehicles. Can someone confirm this?
Thanks, all!
Lots of legacy CCS-1 vehicles out there, @UnsungZero_OldTimeAdMan, including all 2022-2025 Rivians. That's a market worth serving too.
In the Portland area, the new RAN near Tualatin/Tigard is said to be all J-3400. Last time I was there, the Happy Valley RAN had some of each type. It makes...
@Krs71, consider editing the thread's title to mark it "SOLD." Many people also change the title font to strike out the product name.
Congratulations and best wishes!
We have TeslaTap AC adapters for both our R1s. They have helped us a lot -- especially with hotels, whose chargers are about half J-1772 and about half NACS/J-3400. So the appropriate AC adapter roughly doubles our hotel charging options, and sometimes helps in other locations as well.
Best...
The J-3400 "NACS" will eventually dominate the charging-station scene, but things take time.
Whatever I'm driving, I expect to benefit from AC and DC adapters for at least the next six years.
Best wishes!
In 2008, my ex and I had two at-fault crashes. One was below the state's reporting threshold. State Farm declared our ten-year-old sedan totaled, and paid for the other driver's injuries, on the other one. Then we had a new car stolen from our driveway. All three incidents happened between...
