I can see why some people want an electric car to feel like a gas car. Personally, I love the 1-pedal driving and don't miss coasting at all. It took me about a mile to love it and about a week to have smooth turns slowing from any speed. I only use friction brakes 1-2 times per week.
Northwestern Illinois and beyond has minimal charging options. I hate counting on a specific station being open and functioning. The back-up options are often poor.

GM almost folded in 2009 so anything is possible, but Rivian is in a pretty good place to survive all things considered. At this point there are more than 100,000 Rivians. Even if the company folded there would still be decent third party support, but you would have to pay for it.
I had the same issue and my batteries were replaced by mobile service last month. My tech told me it isn't uncommon for the batteries to simply wear out after about 18-24 months. I've had my R1T for about 18 months. He hinted that next time the replacement won't be free.
