I've been fairly happy with Rivian Assistant so far, maybe my expectations weren't as high as others. It's sure way better than Siri on the iPhone. I was driving somewhere last week and tried first with Siri to get assistance about the place I wanted to go and it kept doing the can't help you...
I love the Forest Edge interior on my 2023 R1T that I've had for 3.7 years. I would dearly love to see a similar interior on the R2. They had it in the design studio. See image below from journalists story on the R2.
I agree with others you don't need to worry about the updates, and that it seems like everyone gets most updates within a few days or at most a week of each other. I also agree with setting the regen braking to high, it takes maybe a day to get used to it. Other settings that I would recommend...
It looks like from the photos the mattress slants up significantly near the head area. I wonder how uncomfortable that would be for sleeping on? If I were going to sleep more than once back there I think I'd want to take a sheet of 1/2 inch finish grade plywood (like birch) and use some cross...
If the color limitations at launch are true I admit I am puzzled by that. Rivian made a big deal last year about how their new paint line could switch colors very easily. So it shouldn't be a challenge for them to make all the colors to start with. Maybe it is a marketing thing as some have...
Yes, if they offered that lighter green interior that shows up in design sketches from their studio, I would absolutely go ahead with my standing order. Feeling a little unsure about the black interior, I've never really like an all black interior in a vehicle. I have Forest Edge in my 2022 R1T...
I like the look of the revised app well enough but a very minor gripe is they took away the option to turn on the heated steering wheel and seat remotely, which I was using all the time in the winter before walking out of my office. I have poor circulation in my hands and that warm steering...
Thanks for commenting on the fact what is called black is more gray. Can you provide a little more insight on that, is it a really dark gray, a medium gray or a lighter gray? And is there more than one shade, such as seats vs dash? My 2022 R1T is the Forest Edge so I don't know what the R1...
I have a 3.5 year old R1T and switched from the Pirelli's to Michelin Defender on my 21 inch rims. I am not hearing the hum described, I've been pleased with them and they seem the same sound level as the Pirelli's.
In the interview posted earlier this week with RJ he said the lidar costs them less than $200 per unit and they plan to put it in all R2 units. He said the holdup on adding that technology was developing the custom computer chip that is going to help power the upgraded autonomy features, and...
Lots of nice design features for this RV. Can you estimate how long the engine would need to run to recharge the trailers batteries, either 0-100% or at least 10-80%?
Also, will there be any sort of dust shielding to keep the engine from total getting caked in dust on a gravel road? Looks...
I've read a few articles about the Volvo EX60 and think it looks like a very nice option. However, it will clearly be more expensive than the Rivian R2. The R2 will be far more useful for off-road and appears to have more interior space than the Volvo. And Volvo is not saying much about level...
I have kept several vehicles (ones driven by my wife and I) for 10 years or more by maintaining them well, and expect to keep my currently 3-year old R1T for at least 10 years. If anything, I expect it to last longer than most ICE vehicles, there is so little maintenance to do on it.
