When I asked my guide about getting my manual tonneau post-delivery of my store bought truck, he said, "the manual tonneau will be something separate (in reference to me asking if I would order from gear shop) and Rivian will be taking care of that on the back end. So you wont have to worry...
This still does not solve the Date Acquired being earlier than the Date Placed in Service, but Im thinking that the solution may be to use 08/15/22 for both
"The Date Placed in Service must be in 2022 and no earlier than the Date Acquired. You can remove this vehicle if it was not placed in service in 2022"

Am I missing something... there is still this statement below the purchase date section on IRS page
If you purchased a vehicle between August 16, 2022 and December 31, 2022 but don't take delivery of the vehicle until 2023, see Credit for New Clean Vehicles Purchased in 2023 and After.
Skip No Li and get some actual good beer at Whistle Punk. You can get some really good food from Heritage too. Heritage is in the same building and will walk the food over to Whistle Punk
I’ll be picking up my truck from SC on the west side sometime in the next 2-4 weeks so depending on when you get it, I’d be down to pick some up when I’m over there
Guide let me know on Monday that my truck was in transit (headed to Seattle) and was likely 2-3 weeks out from delivery!
Now just need to make my mind up on all weather mats and cross my fingers for manual tonneau soon
I heard from my guide today (after reaching out to him) that my truck is currently in transit and we’re probably looking at closer to 2-3 weeks before I take delivery
