That's weird. DT (nor my local SCs) ever complain about my sliders. Maybe it's the differences between the sliders? I have the DCE and the area around the puck holes is pretty large (meaning, won't interfere with the SC's giant pucks). I wondered if other sliders have steel too close to those...
Since I just went through all this, here's my findings:
- Discount Tire won't honor the full-coverage warranty on the spare if you don't do a 5-tire rotation.
- The Rivian manual says do 4-tire rotations, but for a dubious reason. I say ignore it. You shouldn't drive for extended time on tires...
It let me RSVP (again) for the day I intended to go, with the same email as I used weeks ago. And no communication follow-up from either as well. Hope they let me it, that'd be a long 1k mile drive for nothing :D
Long story short: I had just bought them, and then tore one. Toyo told Discount Tire they were back-ordered ~90 days. I had no choice but to switch the whole set.
Let my financial headache benefit you!
They have 2,000 miles on them. Discount Tire said the tread wear was minimal enough that...
I feel like the hp difference between LE and Performance is too large. 200hp is insane. Even on the R1 it's ~100 different.
Will you need a performance software unlock on the performance trim? Seems counterintuitive on the naming, like the performance doesn't actually come with performance...
They also sent an email almost taking full credit for it, and leaving OPs name off it..
... we have the R2 colors for you! Spotted by a Rivian Forums member ...
Not dying on that hill either but rose an eyebrow from me too.
Just a couple months ago, had to replace a side wall tear flat on a trail. Good luck getting AAA there! 😁
All I had was the full size rivian spare and it's included kit. It worked fine. It helps having two people because of the weight of the wheels.
My only gripe with rivians kit is that...
That's a good question. I assume the phone via starlink would work as expected. But I'm not 100% sure about the truck. Obviously it can connect to WiFi, but would it do so while driving, and use that connection for nav? Dunno.
That could have helped had I known it was just a connection error...
That's a good idea, especially with it being so cold most of the trip. I also learned this trip, I can turn on the outlets from the cabin and control the fridge via phone app without having to physically turn it on. Found out the hard way that at some battery SOC, the rivian will turn off...
... it all went fine. No problems. 2024 R1T Dual Motor Performance, Canyon Red.
Highlights / TL;DR
Portland OR -> Merced, CA -> Groveland (Rivian Outpost) -> Yosemite -> Death Valley -> Moab, UT -> Anaheim, CA -> Joshua Tree (and its Rivian Outpost) -> Sacramento -> Bend, OR -> Portland

I think the DM sport changes are a way to appease those of us pleading for real AP and Conserve modes on DMs. Currently we use Snow mode or AP w/ reduced stability in order to lock AWD. Both of which aren't great solutions.
So making sport go to standard ride height and make it more comfortable...
I installed it too! Apart from one small hair I didn't see sneak under the wrap until the day after, I'm happy with it! Although it could stand to be a little darker (30-50% vlt imo), it came out darker than I expected. It's darker than my 45% driver and passenger window tints. I didn't know...
Hey @twraps ! For some reason, I wasn't notified by the forums of your R1T addition, though I specifically made sure I was getting notifications. I only noticed because I got the wishlist email from your site. Maybe find another way to notify other R1T owners? I know there were plenty of us...
