I replaced both my batteries with Ohmmu a while back. And the experience has been just so-so. The lithium replacements started throwing a 12v error (due to how their voltage differed from what the truck expected with the AGM batteries) which caused the truck to never sleep. But the sodium...
That is so frustrating. Good on you for documenting it here to share with others. And doing so NOT IN ALL CAPS! :)
As someone who also owns an out-of-warranty 2022 R1T, this scares the hell out of me. I like to think that these early VIN growing pains are behind me. Then reading something like...
Did you have to do anything special to get them to discount the 2nd battery to zero? When I inquired a month ago, my SC didn't know anything about this.
Also, FWIW, the new Ohmmu sodium batteries still do not solve the problem. I've held on since the Halloween update (when Rivian stopped...
I also own both. I own a 2024 GT Line EV9 and a 2022 R1T.
We bought the EV9 in November 2025, used from a local (non Kia) dealer for about $40k. It was a branded title (buyback) with 17k miles. Before deciding on the EV9, we were also looking at a used 2023 R1S for $60k that had about 5k miles...
I’m within a few miles of 60k. I’m 50/50 right now on an extended warranty with xcare. I’m planning to keep my 2022 R1T for 4-5 more years at least. My last three vehicles were kept for 9 years (2013 F150), 10 years (2001 F150), and 8 years (1987 Pathfinder) so I’m a long term ownership person.
I sold mine on the classifieds on this website. I was able to ship them to the buyer in the boxes my new wheels came in. I still have the 5th one in my spare tire compartment under the bed of my R1T. I don’t recall what I sold them for, $200 each maybe? Now that Michelin has a tire that fits, I...
Have you successfully cleared the 12V warning message yet, without Rivian’s help? I have the Ohmmu batteries in my 2022 R1T, which worked great until the last software update changed the 12V diagnostics. I’ve had the 12V warning message ever since. Ohmmu even replaced both batteries under...
Count me as a +1 here. Same Ohmmu batteries. Same 12V error after most recent software update. I have not contacted Rivian support. I’m waiting for the much discussed, and highly anticipated DIY 12V tool to be released.
As a counter to this, I’m at about 55k miles and paid Rivian for the same comprehensive inspection. All they found were chips in the windshield. Literally everything else came back with a green checkmark. Does that mean I have a Goldilocks R1T? Or the service center didn’t look closely enough...
Both my Ohmmu batteries are reporting 13.5V in the bluetooth connectivity app and verified on the battery posts. That voltage must be dropping below a certain threshold when a load is applied.
The 12V error came back a few days ago. I reached out to Ohmmu support.
I did the 12V reset in the RIDE menu and surprise, surprise IT WORKED! The 12V warning indicator went away immediately and hasn't come back after several drive/sleep cycles.
I went through this in March. I replaced my dual batteries with Ohmmu. It took me so many attempts to get the 12 error message to go away. I ended up putting both Ohmmu batteries on the charger, disconnected from the truck, and leaving the truck without power for overnight. I reconnected...
Key Conclusions
In many everyday driving situations, Comma’s Openpilot and Tesla’s Autopilot perform similarly well in terms of smoothness and consistency.
Tesla’s system often handles edge cases (lane exits, merges) more confidently, but sometimes overreacts or behaves unnecessarily...
