I believe this is what they were doing for a while now. When I got my Gen1 in February 2023 I had to go to Brooklyn which sucked. Gen 2 in April 2025.

While I know Rivian has a relationship with Rivian, Lucid would be a great acquisition. They have some great tech that could be integrated into the stack for the VM brands and help them catch up to the others. They have such a large backing from the Saudis I doubt they will disappear though.

I think buying the adapters is just going to be a way of life for a bit. Unless you guarantee you never charge away from your house there is going to be a chance you need an adapter until the world 100% is NACS.

If I needed a new vehicle I would jump right in, love my R1. But with the current interest rates and the fact I don't need a new vehicle I may cancel my pre-order.

Plenty of people pre-ordered that will never convert or want the cheaper model. It is definitely possible to get a launch edition.

I am indifferent to it being powered. I get why some would want it but for how infrequently it is used I don't care either way. A strap would be helpful though.
