  1. Which one do you prefer? Kagu/3D mats vs Tuxmat (including seatbacks and cargo area)

Same. Fit over the bump isn’t perfect, but it doesn’t affect the gas pedal or driving at all. Tuxmat said they’d ship me an updated one (I bought mine a year ago and it said for 2025 at the time), but they seem to have given up on ever making one.
  2. Is there a Gen2 owner who is not happy with sounds coming from the bottom of the vehicle? As if something is loose.

Been in the service center multiple times for this one. Actually just got mine back yesterday for this complaint (and some TSBs). Mine’s best described as a low metallic rattle at low speeds. Always front left. First time they through it was excess play in they CV but swapping that didn’t...
  3. What is your "minor wish?"

lease with mileage limitations is one reason to check it reasonably often
  4. What is your "minor wish?"

Fingers crossed someone at Rivian actually reads this thread. Lots of good minor things that could actually change for the better. Fill out those surveys when they send them too! here’s mine: Change volume on center screen without multiple taps (aka a vol+ and vol- on the bottom bar), or even...
  5. HVAC issues on new R1S

Had the same issue the day I took delivery last year. It ran for 30-45 minutes only blowing ambient air in 90+ degree heat. It randomly switched back to blowing cold, but not as a result of a reset. Could tell the heat pump wasn’t running when it wasn’t cooling. Once it randomly started working...
  6. Suspension Clunking in Gen 2 R1S with 22" Sport Wheels—Is This Normal , fixable?

Anyone have an actual bolt let loose? Not the CV axles to the wheel hub issue that’s known, but like this: I’ve had a worsening clunk over weeks from the left front suspension over small to medium bumps at lower speed (less than 30mph or so). A lot like what’s described here by a few folks...
  7. Which one do you prefer? Kagu/3D mats vs Tuxmat (including seatbacks and cargo area)

No Tuxmat in back for me. They look sweet though, and the fit of that trunk section is fire. @mkg3 how are the tailgate sections for protection, and sliding over each other when opening/closing? Or are those not Tuxmat?
  8. Which one do you prefer? Kagu/3D mats vs Tuxmat (including seatbacks and cargo area)

+1 for the Tuxmats. I ordered last year when their site said it would fit 2025 R1S. Every mat fits great and has amazing coverage except the driver's due to the slight floor change. It still fits, but is a little awkward over the new bump. Shortly after getting them, I reached out to Tuxmat and...
  9. Preview of new Energy app in 2025.18 + revived talk of V2V / V2H bi-directional charging

I've put this in my survey feedback to Rivian several times. This energy update is mildly exciting, but actual driving projections similar to Tesla would be a huge asset. Especially since getting rated range at highway speeds is rare.
  10. California Dune Color - real life photos (R1S & R1T)

Looks way better on the T than the S to me for some reason.
  11. Range to zero

Have an old Model S and this is definitely the case. There’s a buffer built in, but it’s hidden from the user specifically to protect against running out early in case the BMS is slightly optimistic. Most times you can drive to 0 or beyond (I’ve gone past 0 by 11 miles before), and the buffer...
  12. SoonishEV: TopoCharge Wireless Phone Charger for Gen2 Rivian Vehicles

Just finished installing mine...it's awesome, and the install was as shown in the video. I now understand why the original wireless charger has to stay in. Very odd 3 pin contact built into the charger to power the NFC reader that sits on top. My only additional tip is to be very careful...
  13. Gen 1 Battery Discharge update for 2024.47.01 and 2024.51.01

We could go the brute force manual check method several times a day. None of us have lives anyway.
  14. Gen 1 Battery Discharge update for 2024.47.01 and 2024.51.01

My initial glances after the .47 (and .51) update were presuming that total capacity was related to battery temp. But perhaps not; or perhaps there are multiple factors including temp, time since last charge, etc. Though charging likely brings the temp up, but at the same time the gradual rise...
