I have a service appointment for the morning of June 9th at the Normal service center (which is located behind factory security gates). SOP is: I'll park my R1S at the visitor entrance to the factory, take a seat in the factory lobby, and a Rivian employee will shuttle my vehicle back to the...
From FAQs:
"... you’ll pick it up at your nearest Rivian Service + Demo Center."
"... however we are not offering factory pickup at this time."
Wait, I live 12 miles from the factory and my nearest SC is at the factory. But customers are not allowed to set foot in the Normal Service Center...
Availability of paint at the factory in Normal may not be the issue. I suspect that some body-color parts -- like exterior mirror covers and exterior door handles -- are painted by suppliers. If the supplier (which could be somewhere in Asia) is slow to provide forest green R2 mirror covers...

I don't get too worked up...
Exceeding expectations: I installed a Comma 3X in my '23 R1S quad 6 weeks ago and have logged about 2000 miles with Comma providing "lane centering." I have the standard harness that Comma sells.
After retiring from farming at the end of 2024 and moving to Bloomington, I've been driving a...
