Are you parked and what angle are you at? When offroading if you don't go to highest before you need it, it won't go when you need it because the truck has to be fairly level before it tries to go to highest. At least that is what I attributed the issue to in those times it wouldn't for me

Yeah 50% of the time I walk to my car and it unlocks fine, if it doesn't and I stand there I pull phone out of pocket and it unlocks before I even get it open to get to the app. So accelerometer makes complete sense from my experience
