Ours does/did. You can try periodically applying a little automotive interior surface protectant to it with a cloth and it'll stop for awhile. It works for us.
Yes, if following the rules you do need to be a guest. There was another R1T that used the UC charger and wasn't a guest but they cleared it with the staff before charging.
You could do the whole trail in a long day with a suspension modified truck to allow faster speed without shaking apart. I...
We did go back to Under Canvas for the night to charge (also for the showers, lol.) I think we ended the trail with about 100 miles of range left; enough that we drove through Arches and Moab right after finishing the White Rim before charging at Canvas.
That's exciting that you get to go do the trail again! I think you'll be fine; even if you need a little heat. I suppose you could have some warmer clothes to drive with in the cooler hours and try to use the heated seats first before cabin heat.
In addition to a decent amount of A/C use we did...
Yeah, I had this issue with the camp speaker not releasing from the console.
I tried lots of things, including asking it politely. Rivian tried to troubleshoot via software it but ended up replacing the latch mech. No issues since.
We just got back from a great Moab trip this past weekend so likely just missed you out there. Glad you made it ok as well.
We planned our trip around three known good charging stations: Green River (350kW,) Monticello (62kW) and Rivian L2 (11kW) at Under Canvas Moab. The Green River location...
Here are some stats from a 3-day White Rim round-trip from the Under Canvas charger and back on the large pack.
Started with 100% and ended with about 33%. A wonderful trip and impressive truck despite the trails being in a more challenging condition due to recent heavy rains and washouts...
Awesome! I'll shoot you a direct message when we're 30 min out from Grand J.
I can't seem to send you a direct message, though. You might not have that enabled on your profile?
Hey @JeremyP we're heading to the the White Rim as I write this.
Our agenda has us passing through there tomorrow between about 11:00am and 1:00pm, depending on charger status, of course. It's a workday but feel free to send me a message if you happen to be free and we'll say Hello to ya.
We're on our way to Moab right now from WI, hoping to hit Golden, CO tonight. Lots of chargers offline or under repair, and busy chargers. We'll be mountain biking Moab and doing the White Rim Trail. Our plan has shifted to staying at Under Canvas and the Green River campground for electric...
I'm just a data point but I don't have a broken tonneau, cracked roof, keys that don't work or a laundry list of broken things on my truck. Have been enjoying it so far.
