I hadn't thought of it, but this works. I was not aware that you could lock the vehicle with the storage compartments (frunk, gear tunnel) open. I tested it and it does work as you thought. Thanks for the suggestion. Problem solved.

OK. So, I had a chance to try this today. The setting I believe you mentioned is labeled "Auto Relock". The description is something along the lines of - Lock vehicle after two minutes if doors are not opened. Which would not quite be what I was looking for, but I tried it anyway. And...
