  1. Esker Silver Paint Sample Closeup Photos

Rivians paint is beautiful! Anyone know the average thickness of Rivians paint?
  2. 5,000+ R2 Production Milestone (VIN 5400 Assigned)

The adventure angle was a way to create a brand. I don't believe most people care about that component in a vehicle. The EV market is a small subset of the US auto market. Tesla has the mindshare of that small subset, Unfortunately. For me and many others, the SUV form factor, the superior...
  3. 5,000+ R2 Production Milestone (VIN 5400 Assigned)

I believe these reservation numbers are smoke and mirrors for the investors. I would just prefer RJ is not doing the same thing
  4. 5,000+ R2 Production Milestone (VIN 5400 Assigned)

Same situation with me. Reserved January 2026, with a Nov/Dec. A factory needs to be at 80% output to break even. It seems R2 won't give them the volume to even come close. Hopefully there is a lot more brand recognition b6 next year to increase that volume
  5. 5,000+ R2 Production Milestone (VIN 5400 Assigned)

I'm wondering how they are going to get to 300,000 units a year out of the GA plant? Hopefully international sales gets them to full factory utilization sooner before R3 rolls out
  6. 5,000+ R2 Production Milestone (VIN 5400 Assigned)

Are There supposed to be 200,000 reservations?
  7. R2 - Real world 259 mile round trip efficiency results (at 100+ degrees)

I don't see the benefit of neck breaking, off the line power in a non sports car. It also leads me to believe the power delivery is geared towards the European market and not just the US which is more 0-60 focused.
  8. R2 - Real world 259 mile round trip efficiency results (at 100+ degrees)

This is a real life test and exactly a route I use. Very useful data points
  9. Porsche Cayenne EV First-Drive Reviews

Having spent time in a Turbo with PCNA, its the best riding SUV I have driven. Build quality, fit, finish, materials are fantastic. No storage in the front and the rear seating can have more legroom. The issue is the price, depreciation and the god forbid you need parts or service
  10. 2027 R2 Performance vs. 2026 Model Y Performance - highway efficiency test (Out of Spec comparison)

This is when a large OEM with scale can help. There simply isn't enough volume to realistically support the R1 long term. The magic number is 1,000,000 units of a platform
  11. 2027 R2 Performance vs. 2026 Model Y Performance - highway efficiency test (Out of Spec comparison)

VAG is becoming more intertwined with Rivian with the zonal software JV. It also makes sense for Scout if that ever comes to fruition
  12. 2027 R2 Performance vs. 2026 Model Y Performance - highway efficiency test (Out of Spec comparison)

Same, they are not high priorities for me either. IMO these claims are made for capital raises which Rivian just raised $1.32b. Again the Musk playbook I also believe Rivian with be acquired by VAG anyway. Long term support for the brand is whats most important
  13. 2027 R2 Performance vs. 2026 Model Y Performance - highway efficiency test (Out of Spec comparison)

For me 230miles of range is sufficient in an EV and there are so many other benefits of the R2 over any other EV. My issue is with RJ taking a page out of Musks playbook and making false claims. It makes me question all of Rivians claims, like UHF. The false claims with the questionable...
  14. 2027 R2 Performance vs. 2026 Model Y Performance - highway efficiency test (Out of Spec comparison)

As long as efficiency isn't like a Hummer EV, it's an overhyped topic. MPG isn't a constant discussion with ICE cars because that's not the important element of the car or driving experience.
  15. Non-semi active suspension on the R2

Biggest reason I'm getting a Performance is the Active dampers. It's a huge benefit in ride quality. Half the horsepower would be enough for me
