You can self-refer yourself for an R1S or T, but there are no referral points for R2 at this time as far as the website says. Also free charging stacks sequentially so if you already have free charging the 3 months is added to the end of the current free charging and so forth.
Borealis is definitely purple, but when it cloudy or dark its not bright at all, and it doesn’t scream “look at me” when one drives down the road in my opinion. Unfortunately I am thousands of miles away from you but there are several hundred of S and T R1 models out there so maybe you will see...
Unfortunately R1’s in Borealis are not very common, I have never seen another one besides ours. I was told by Rivian that there were about 400 R1S and 400 R1Ts made in Borealis. But I don’t really know if that is accurate. Hopefully you find someone nearby.
Those panels really don’t show what it looks like in the sun. If you can’t find someone with an R1 in that color (I am nowhere close sorry) maybe ask if you can take the panel outside and see in real sun and shade what it looks like.
I had the entire front 1/3 done in Xpel Clear, which means there are no lines, and honestly, along with Xpel Ceramic coating, you cannot tell which is and which doesn't have PPF. It looks great, when its clean on Borealis.
My coworker who has a Rivian Blue R1S thought Borealis would be very bright, but it really isn't, and at night it looks black. Rivian Blue is much brighter for instance, even when dirty. It does show snow spray (mag chloride) easily. I had it ceramic coated to make it easier to clean, will...
