Happening to me a lot recently too. I have the setting that downgrades the quality set to off so I was wondering if it was related to that… but i found the dynamic quality setting to be a little annoying back when i tried it too so I turned it off.

That is substantially more than I have seen in my ownership period. The phantom drain is very good on the R2 for me so far, even with gear guard enabled. Is there any indication on the energy screen where the usage is coming from?

UWB with iPhone 17 pro + Apple Watch has worked great with the R2. Coming from Gen 1 it’s a huge improvement over Bluetooth.

Yep that’s my video. If it is somehow secretly preconditioning it isn’t showing that to me. My guess is there is just some thermal upper bounds that get hit and it goes into overkill mode. I get that lower SoC and low voltage could mean more heat but it seems like there is a middle ground somewhere.

I did another drive and observed the same behavior. It seems the battery pack doesn’t want to be above 105.8 and just aggressively cools. What’s curious is leading up to that, it is allowed to slowly climb from ~102.x to the 105.8 without intervention. I think they can smooth this cooling...
