I doubt the batteries are getting hot from your charger. 12 watts isn't a lot of power for the size of the 12 volt batteries. Your charger is probably at its max current rating and at that level some warming is to be expected. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Don't forget, Rivian suggests that if you do the hard rest to wait at least a hour before trying another hard reset. While a hard reset is for end users use it with a full understanding of how to use it. Read the Owner's Manual for more info.
