That was kind of my point, that even though all evidence points to it being a pre-existing issue, they CAN claim that they aren't responsible. To be clear, I think fixing it is the ethical thing to do considering the timeline, I was just trying to be nice in my wording. :)

Wanted to update for anyone following that Rivian was able to go back and see error logs starting from right after delivery and agreed to take care of the fix. Credit to them for investigating and escalating this through diagnostics. I'm now understanding that they technically don't have to, but...

Warning lights showed up on my drive home which is a few hours from the service center. Turn around on and finding my way home after that wasn’t a good option for me.

I'm hoping they will do this and find something. It's also possible that this error would not have shown until it was driven past the initial fir 40 miles or so, unfortunately. Seeming like just some bad luck.

Yep, I did report the errors right away, and you would think they would understand, but they don't seem to want to consider it yet.
