It will be interesting to see if you get a VIN after your test drive. I also had a 6/17 order, did a test drive this past Tuesday and had a VIN less than 24 hours later.
Just for reference, in SoCal, day 1 reservation (first 4 minutes) and have an R1S.
I created my order on 6/17, got my VIN this morning, and the delivery date came in this afternoon For July 15th.
Interesting seeing that this was your opening statement….
”Above all, the lack of CarPlay/Android Auto is the biggest factor in my decision to cancel.……”
My guess is that it is the V3 chargers, not the adapter. I just finished a 6900 mile trip, frequently saw the message about rate slowed by charger on the V3 chargers, did not see it on any of the V4 chargers.
Funny, I never even tried the audio on my test drive, just not important to me, I’m sure it will be fine for my old ears.
I do not recall anyone mentioning the 15 minute energy graph. On the R1 it goes from 0-4 and the heavy middle line is 2. On the R2 it goes from 0-6 and the heavy middle...
Interesting, got my order invite on 6/17, placed the order. Had a chance to do a test drive yesterday morning in Costa Mesa, out of the blue got my VIN (1915) this morning, coincidence? 🤷🏻
This is from Rivian’s web site, my invite had no expiration date noted.
When you receive an order invitation, you’ll be able to finalize the options for your R2 and confirm your order. Once confirmed, you can expect to take delivery in 2-6 weeks. You can order whenever you are ready, however...
I agree, means nothing. I had one saved but could not figure out how to use the saved configuration from the link they sent Mr so I just recreated it. Not a lot of options so pretty quick to replicate the configuration I had saved.
I don’t think they are cranking them out yet. I just did a test drive in Costa Mesa today, I asked how many deliveries they have done so far and he said 10 or 15. They had 4 R2s on the side that I could see, 1 in front for people to look at and 2 they were using for test drives. Highest...
You want to know how hard it is to code….
Simple test, write the steps to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Give it to someone else to execute. They need to follow the steps exactly, no interpretation of what you meant, can’t do anything you did not write.
It can be funny to...
It almost seems like they are slow rolling the deliveries waiting for the software update.
I was in Canton MA June 15th, they had 1 R2 for test drives, had 4 others in stock but not scheduled for delivery when I was there. The guy I talked to did not know why they were not yet being...
Not my experience, vins come based on what is going to the delivery location and seemed to be assigned after final inspection off the line. It’s possible the R2 vins may be closer to assigned off the line because it is a new line. 🤷🏻
On a side note, I picked my R1S up at the factory.
