I have this and have used it car camping with the Rivian. Works well. Easy cleanup. Only downside is that it is very very non stick, so for runny things (eggs, pancakes, etc) you need molds or to level your cooking surface very well.
One thing people don’t realize is many of the traditional auto manufacturers are also having problems with servicing EVs. The wait to get my wife’s id.4 serviced was longer than my Rivian service appointment I just had.
that doesn’t make a long wait for Rivian any more palatable, but the...
I just had my R1S parked at the airport garage in Portland for 60 hours. Only lost a claimed 2 miles of range and 1% of charge according to the car. I notice I lose more at home than that though. I am guessing that means PAAK is to blame
Personally, I refuse to enable “hey siri” so I could do this hands free. I don’t like always on microphones for privacy reasons. This setup also requires you to look at the phone to know a message has come in. And many people once they look at the phone will just pick it up and read it without...
I have to say I have been debating if I keep or sell my 1 month old r1s and this thread is something that makes me think more and more of keeping my Subaru instead.
Was there Saturday morning! Of course I had to call EA to reset the one available charger. By the time that happened my battery had cooled down and got crap speeds. Luckily had to go north so I just went to the RAN in Madras and which is awesome.
I was having the same issue. Then I got a “adaptive cruise is not available until serviced” warning. Did a car reboot to fix that issue (hold left button and hazard light for a few seconds) and both problems seem resolved. Others having the problem might try a reboot.
I finally got my R1S this week! 9/2021 order date. They actually offered to match me with a vehicle in May but I had just quit my job so I pushed it out a few months.
3 days in I am enjoying it, took it from my home in Portland out in to the Gorge this afternoon.
Another factor: where you park the car overnight. Basically how cold soaked is it in the winter? It takes less time for both the cabin and the battery to come up to temp. The current ambient temp is only one factor there. So 2 people with 10 minute drives in the same weather would see different...
For all EV's, if you are running the heater (or, to a lesser extent, the AC) for shortish trips, you spend a lot of energy to get the cabin to your desired temp. Once you have the cabin at temp, it takes less energy to maintain that temp. So in general, longer trips are more efficient...
If it were simply a matter of the tire diameter being adjusted to properly give range calculations and such then I am guessing Rivian would have the ability to adjust. However the rolling resistance and the weight likely play large factors. So it is much easier for them to say “we only tested...
My ID.4 came with free Electrify America charging for 3 years. My grocery store has 4 chargers. I basically can handle my entire weekly power needs for my car by charging while I grocery shop 1 day a week.
