I’m in exactly the same boat. Decided to hold out for the R3X as that’s really the one I want.
Carvana is getting our R1T today. It’ll be the end of our Rivian journey for now.
Buy it with cash then you can sell it whenever you want. That way you are not paying interest to anyone (admittedly you forgo interest, less tax, on $60k) and you have the car you want.
I know someone will say ..."yes but you take all the depreciation hit" ... you don't really, that's kind of...
It's in the ball park. Efficiency is pretty good. That's all that matters to me. Don't stress about every single mile/kw because a headwind, extra weight, slightly heavy right foot and it all changes anyway.
Don't overthink it.
I was think ing the R2 Truck should have just a front row bench seat and no second seats, but then I'm not sure the EV works truck has much of a market. The F150 Lightning sucked at that (not least on cost comparison vs ICE F150).
The R2X however... that could be like the Rubicon of the range...
There’s a dude somewhere on here that does all this witchcraft with audio. A while back he showed us a bunch of tests and charts he did on the Gen1 Meridian and I just copied that. It’s brilliant.
perhaps he can help/advise?
Light colours nearly always more expensive than dark on cars (don't know why) but at least dark doesn't show the dirt as bad. Perhaps it ages better too?
