That’s a deal breaker for me. There’s a Tesla service center here in Bend and they’re easy to work with. No way do I have time to take my car to Portland for service. Absurd.
I’ll be canceling my order. Too bad.
Thanks, Steve. Do you know if this includes body work?
I've had Teslas for the past 6+ years. Initially, they allowed us to take them to local body shops for repairs. Now, unless it's a very minor repair, they want to do the body work themselves.
This is great to know. We're relocating to Bend from Park City and my R1S is scheduled for delivery between Oct-Dec this year. I am concerned that there is no service center in Oregon at all, and the only planned one is 3 hours away in Portland.
What happens if there's a repair that cannot be...
Oops, sorry—I responded to the wrong post. My reservation was December 2019. Does that suggest 2nd half of 2023 or even later with Ocean Coast and not Launch Edition?
Thanks. I did have a business reason to lease when I bought my current MX, but that isn't the case now.
I think you're right—buying out my MX at the end of this lease, and selling it when the R1S arrives, is the best option.
Somehow I missed these replies, thanks!
Yes, it's probably best for me to just buy the current Model X I have (Performance, FSD, + free supercharging) and then sell it when the R1S arrives. As you pointed out, I'm likely to do better financially with that route than I am if I re-lease or buy a...
This is the tricky part. If I knew it was coming in June 2023, I'd just extend my Tesla lease by 6 months. But I'm not confident in that at all. So now I have to choose between:
Getting a new vehicle, only to sell it in 9-12-ish months when the R1S arrives
Buy out my Model X at the end of the...
Hi everyone,
I ordered my R1S on 12/19/21. I checked my email and don't think I've received any information about a delivery window/timeline.
Given my order date, what do you think I should expect? Second half of 2023?
My current Tesla Model X lease expires in December of this year, so I'm...
Yes, I leased in December 2019. It does sound like that is the best option—to purchase the car and sell it used. Someone on the Tesla forum said they did that and actually made a profit on the sale of the Tesla even after two years of ownership.
I have a Tesla Model X with a lease ending in December. I ordered my R1S in December of last year. From what I gather, I won’t take delivery of the R1S until mid 2023 at the earliest, and probably later.
so now I have to figure out what to do in that gap between when the MX lease is over and...
