not so, at least the way Porsche has implemented things, the brake pads are never touched unless it’s a panic braking situation. Coasting actually can gain more range then regen can recoup.

Wish Rivian would allow you turn off regen. It would be more like driving a Porsche EV with the coasting and turning on regen if you want it.

same thing is happening with us, even I get to the truck first, it will switch two her as she comes up on the passenger side. annoying, didn’t do this before the last update. Hotfix installed last night haven’t tested yet. remote control via the app seems better and no longer timing out.

I take full self driving as eyes off and hands off.

IF you want the FSD type self driving, then you need to wait for the R2 with the Lidar sensors. The current model will not get an upgrade via software. It would need the hardware.

I’m in MD, but we do have the two plate requirement. In MD the R1 comes with a front license plate mount that attaches to the bumper. Since it sounds like you are buying used, I would just check with Rivian to see about getting a mount. Quick google shows some 3rd party options.

on my R1T we use the funk all the time. If it wasn't powered, I doubt we would use it as much. We rarely use the frunk on my wife's car, it's not powered, but the rear hatch is, so everything goes in the back. Her car even has the kick to open, which is really useful when your hands are full.

I noticed this the other day. Did a hard reset due to some flakiness with the tailgate not locking and all the privacy allowed controls were turned off.

you can prefer the supercharger network and see what that does. And also try with the adapter setting turned on. But sounds like a bug.

its been really slow for me, truck will not wake up. The other odd thing is the tonneau cover is unlocked and can be opened/closed without unlocking the truck. Tail gate also opens. I was going to do a hard reset to see if that fixes things.

and Porsche/Audi/VW, it nice when I drive one of my other vehicles and have carplay. The one thing that will give me pause when my R1T lease is up. The AI texting still doesn’t support group texting and the phone integration is weak overall. It will be interesting what happens with the stack...

I'm still waiting on a messaging app, the new AI integration is half baked using bluetooth. CarPlay would solve the messaging issue (group texts). You don't have to have the phone displayed in CarPlay.

I had some phantom alerts and service fixed it. they said there was some end caps that were not installed during production. My alerts was whenever it rained.
