I really am not in favor of this trailer coast concept.
Trailer brakes are one of those things you don’t think about until you are emergency braking for a road incident and the trailer passes you in the next lane cause you reduced the braking force. Unless you are a fruit ninja world champion...
Yes gain set the same for the whole test. Of course there is a potential that as the truck slowed the trailer brakes activated, the only way to completely prevent this would be to set the gain to zero. That would be super reckless in practice as i’ve driven around some of those blind freeway...
We do have a weigh scale nearby and it was just our luck on this filming day it was on the fritz. Doh!
As others have mentioned the load was heavy. Almost certainly maxed out, but it performed exceptionally well! only thing out of the ordinary was the air suspension compressor working over time...
Well both sessions were on 2 different 350kW EA stations in two different cities.
The second session was after towing over 8,000 lbs up and down 7% highway grades for multiple hours so i’d be surprised if the pack was too cold.
I appreciate the feedback (i’ve seen lots of it on this forum) and say what you want but we DO have tons of experience in towing and off-road environments.
On our rocky mountain towing test quickest rate was 150kW as well from 15%.
