  1. No real AM or FM radio in the R2

I played with the R2's radio a bit during my test drive. While it seemed nearly as responsive as traditional radio, having to sit through 30 seconds of ads on most stations when first tuning in would hinder the ability to channel surf. It does seem that once you've heard the ads once, you can...
  2. Update on timing now in account

Mine says 2-4 weeks. I enjoyed my test drive, but see no urgent need to replace my R1S so I'll be holding off for a bit.
  3. Who HASN'T been invited to order with an early reservation?

Early R1S owner with a first 10 minute R2 reservation. No invitation but I was finally able to book a test drive for Sunday. I'm not in a hurry because I plan to wait for Borealis and test drive other upcoming vehicles first.
  4. It’s Tuesday… Any Invites Today [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS / OFF TOPIC POSTS]

This is the key difference compared to the R1. Previously, they locked in everyone's price and configuration first, then scheduled them for production based on reservation order and part availability. This time, you don't configure until they have a production slot for you, but whenever you do...
  5. It’s Tuesday… Any Invites Today [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS / OFF TOPIC POSTS]

Everyone will find out when to expect their invite by the end of June, not get the actual invite.
  6. Those of you with Forest Green R1's

No regrets. The color still looks great even though I only wash it once a month tops.
  7. is it possible to change R2 model after reservation?

There is no harm in making a $100 reservation, but in all likelihood by the time the tri-motor is available the reservation pool will be exhausted and they will just be directly taking orders.
  8. No real AM or FM radio in the R2

I've always been annoyed by the FM radio in my R1S. It cuts out randomly during the first couple minutes of driving, and has horrible reception in urban areas. The switch to streaming seems like more of a positive than negative to me.
  9. RJ says R3X is ~2 years away. Confirms R4

The timing is largely contingent on how fast they can get the GA factory up and running. Once that is nearing completion, they should be able to firm up the timeline.
  10. Golf Clubs fit in R2 (frunk and cargo area) - my tested photos from demo drive

This is great to see. Carrying golf clubs is one of my most frequent uses for the frunk in my R1S and I was skeptical I would be able to continue to do so if I switched to a R2. None of the competition comes close to fitting, so it's a huge selling point.
  11. R2 non-powered frunk is a mistake?

It sure beats some of the legacy competition like Volvo who still put secondary release levers under the hood.
  12. Interior 3D view now in R2 configurator

So that's what the 5X button was originally intended for.
  13. Rival: 2026 BMW iX3 reviews are impressive... R2 has its work cut out

Whatever the case was, the number was not posted for very long. I've been on their page several times this week, including as soon as I saw the articles posted claiming 434 miles, and I've never seen anything besides the original 400 mile estimate.
  14. Borealis and Forest Green not available at R2 launch

If waiting for Borealis means it comes with LIDAR and the Gen 3 computer, that would be some consolation.
  15. R2 Performance Launch Package Gets Costal Cloud Interior - Rivian Stories

With the R1, Rivian provided updated delivery estimates every couple of months. If you changed anything with your configuration, you would have to wait until the next time they updated everyone's estimates to see how the new configuration affected your wait time.
