I played with the R2's radio a bit during my test drive. While it seemed nearly as responsive as traditional radio, having to sit through 30 seconds of ads on most stations when first tuning in would hinder the ability to channel surf. It does seem that once you've heard the ads once, you can...
Early R1S owner with a first 10 minute R2 reservation. No invitation but I was finally able to book a test drive for Sunday. I'm not in a hurry because I plan to wait for Borealis and test drive other upcoming vehicles first.
This is the key difference compared to the R1. Previously, they locked in everyone's price and configuration first, then scheduled them for production based on reservation order and part availability. This time, you don't configure until they have a production slot for you, but whenever you do...

The timing is largely contingent on how fast they can get the GA factory up and running. Once that is nearing completion, they should be able to firm up the timeline.
This is great to see. Carrying golf clubs is one of my most frequent uses for the frunk in my R1S and I was skeptical I would be able to continue to do so if I switched to a R2. None of the competition comes close to fitting, so it's a huge selling point.
Whatever the case was, the number was not posted for very long. I've been on their page several times this week, including as soon as I saw the articles posted claiming 434 miles, and I've never seen anything besides the original 400 mile estimate.
With the R1, Rivian provided updated delivery estimates every couple of months. If you changed anything with your configuration, you would have to wait until the next time they updated everyone's estimates to see how the new configuration affected your wait time.
