I still have a Gen 1 Key Band that I was holding onto for a hoped for eventual Rivian R1S purchase. However, I now know that I will almost certainly not get a Gen 1 vehicle, so I would consider selling it.
It is the desirable grey+yellow version (ZY3 _ _ _). Looks exactly like the stock photo...
Just some fob followup:
Thanks for your helpful comments.
For newbies: Rivian Gen 1 (2022-2025) and Gen 2 (2025-present) fobs are fairly easy to tell apart will a little practice and careful examination.
Look for the little shackle-release button on one side of the fob body. If it is there...
For the record, I have a second similar (grey+yellow) original Rivian Key Band (ZY3_ _ _) that has been given a clean bill of health (i.e., it is unpaired) by Rivian Customer Service.
I may eventually offer it for sale (for example, in the Rivian Forums classified area). If I do, I don't want...
Yes. In the months since then I have become much more knowledgeable about Rivian key bands. I would know how to buy one and what questions to ask,...now. Live and learn.
In one conversation I had with seemingly knowledgeable and friendly service staff-person (Rocklin, California), he said that Rivian is rumored to be working on making the software changes necessary for Gen 1 vehicles to recognize and be able to use Gen 2 fobs. When will that be? Who knows...

In 2025 I purchased a Rivian Key Band (ZY4_ _ _) from the legitimate original owner whose Gen 1 vehicle had unfortunately been in an accident and was “totaled.”
A few months later, in 2026, I took it in to my local Rivian service center and was told that it...
The original two wrist Key Bands were SOLD. However, I may have another Wrist Band (with yellow inner liner) for sale--CONTACT ME (by PM/DM) TO CHECK ON STATUS.
Hmm. Strange. I have a bookmark in my browser with that web address that still takes me to the correct pdf page. So I just copied that web address verbatim. But you are right, when I copy and manually click on that address, it doesn't work(?).
I have replaced the address with the full one from...
If you are looking at this, you probably know about these.
Originally intended for Launch Edition R1 vehicles (in 2022-23), they should also work with all Gen 1 R1Ts and R1Ss. There is also anecdotal evidence from owners (and unofficially from Rivian staff) that they work with Gen 2 vehicles...
Some items sold, so I updated the OP.

Very helpful and interesting post.
From 2017 to 2021 I drove a Honda Clarity hydrogen fuel cell car (my first modern, electric -motor, high-tech vehicle). It had a (somewhat clunky) Garmin GPS-navigation system and the option of using CarPlay, I believe. I don't recall all the details, but I...
Followup Number 3: Today (6/4/26) I visited the Rivian Service Center in West Sacramento, California.* I brought them two Rivian Key Bands I am selling in to be evaluated. Using the Key Band ID numbers (on the bands) and the Rivian computer system staff there determined:
Both ZZ____ numbered...
Hmm. Too bad. Instead of writing on the car :) maybe one of those little adhesive dots you used to be able to buy at stationary stores? (Do stationary stores still exist?) Maybe in tasteful Rivian yellow?
