I'm considering trading my lease in while I still have some trade in equity left in it from my Gen 1 > Gen 2 switch. Going to go to the local road show and decide if I can handle the reduction in size, but I think it might be perfect for me. For me, it's also dependent on their ADAS...
I think you just lose hands free on the freeway, but highway assist should still work. Basically it goes back to the way it was delivered at Gen2 launch is my understanding.
Need to go see what I have, since there's no way I'm paying for it in it's current form.
Amazed they didn't launch something to incentivize folks to subscribe to autonomy +. I have zero interest in a paying a dime for the system in its current state. $50 per month to train their system not to run me into a median every morning, pass.
Rivian has always played fast and loose with our preconceptions of seasons and time. Spring in Normal lasts at least til June, maybe even into, July, lol.
I subscribe to Tesla FSD (and really like it), but definitely not paying for the Rivian's system in its current state. I try to use UHF all the time, but the number of interventions it takes to keep it driving safely when not on a freeway is astounding. I think they should have kept it in...
Nope, completely different. I don't have it selected in my MY and it ensures I don't receive the first waves of updates. It's perfectly reasonable to give people the option not to be beta testers.
"You can adjust your software update preferences by tapping ‘Controls’ > ‘Software’ > ‘Software...
As does Tesla - that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about an option in the app that indicates you want it first, which Tesla has and Rivian doesn't. I could choose not to select it and others who are dying to have it could choose to select it.
I have owned a Rivian since August 2023 - Gen 1 and Gen 2. I delay every update until it's been out for a few weeks now. Rivian delivers intermediate patch updates frequently. I never had problems with Gen 1 updates (which is less buggy in genral), but the update where they turned mobile eye...
Mine is offering the update now, but I'm not installing for at least a couple of more weeks. Thanks to everyone else for ironing the bugs out!
I wish there was an option to be last to receive updates!
It's the same speed as every other roll out they've ever done. It goes out in waves over a week or two. Connect + doesn't mean you get it the moment it's released.
