  1. 12 Volt Demons Caught Up With The Count

Yes 3yrs / 36k It's just odd that they would say I had to bring it in below 36k if the issue is reported at 30k. If it takes them 3 months to get me an appointment which is what they said originally that's their problem not mine is all.
  2. 12 Volt Demons Caught Up With The Count

Service told me that I had to be within the 36k miles when the battery is replaced or they won't cover it, despite me telling them and making an appointment before the 36k miles that doesn't sound right. Then they told me to empty my backseat, confused I googled it. Gen 2 has battery under the...
  3. 12 Volt Demons Caught Up With The Count

1 month for mobile or tomorrow for 3 hr drive. I guess I'll drive ugh
  4. 12 Volt Demons Caught Up With The Count

This must be a software glitch.
  5. 12 Volt Demons Caught Up With The Count

That's very interesting. So it's possible there's actually nothing wrong with my battery and the truck is just leaving the DC to DC charger in draining more now.
  6. 12 Volt Demons Caught Up With The Count

I got the latest update on Thursday night and the battery notification Saturday morning. I checked the energy screen and it looks like it's topping up the battery every hour now. Maybe it's a software glitch? Going to do a hard reset and still get a new battery under warranty.
  7. 12 Volt Demons Caught Up With The Count

I also got it today. Did they change something in the software to cause so many replacements in such a short time? Seems too much of a coincidence. I checked the voltage and I'm at 13.3 volts so it must be charging it? Parked all day and checked consumption didn't seem out of the ordinary...
  8. Gear Tunnel Door Creak AKA Dying Cow

Yeah the inner piece I didn't want to remove I just squirted as much lube in there I could
  9. Gear Tunnel Door Creak AKA Dying Cow

What the heck is the 9x piece? I removed the one that shows 8x and it did have a few tabs at the top but not 9 like 4?
  10. Gear Tunnel Door Creak AKA Dying Cow

The piece on top of that is clips there was definitely no screws. That said I pulled it apart this morning as it was bothering me and bent one of the tabs up a bit and it fits tight again. The tab was in but not grabbing quite enough I guess.
  11. Gear Tunnel Door Creak AKA Dying Cow

My gear tunnel moos so bad. I tried silicone spray everywhere in the hinge area. Never any luck so today I pulled the molding off to get a better view. No clips broke or anything but man now the trim piece seems much looser than before. These plastic clips are basically one time use.
  12. Brake service

Took wheel off today. You definitely could release the brake then just pull the connector to the servo. Not sure if the truck will freak out and then you'll need service to reset your computer or if it would be happy when you reinsert. So I went the simple way. Wife put vehicle in neutral...
  13. General Grabber Artic LT tires installed -- review / feedback

Short and sweet data point. I just installed a set of 275/65/20 general grabber artic LT tires on my R1T. Short trip to feel them out and program the TPMS. Results they seem slightly quieter than my Pirelli OEM tires with 15k miles on them. They provide a slightly softer ride which...
  14. Brake service

I watched the tech unplug and plug in my 12v battery 3 times when it was all disconnected for service. He didn't seem worried. I don't understand why cars have basically become unserviceable! It's a tough adjustment for someone what has never brought their car to a shop. I've done all my...
  15. Brake service

Will it put the brake on before you can hit the release again? Or can you release when already released? I'm just looking to pull the pins grease and maybe pull the pads quickly and clean the ears off. So 15 min SHOULD be plenty of time once the wheels are off and bolts loosened.
