Will the R2 come with the option of the Darkout Package?

I saw the R2 up close at the Venice Block Party and noticed none of the vehicles had the darkout package? I also asked the sales rep there and he didnt have an answer. Anyone hear any news? Thanks!

Nah, they want the bright letters to attract as much attention as possible, just like the headlights.

It takes a little (really pretty minimal) effort, but you can take care of the "dark out" yourself for about 1/2 (or less) of what they will eventually charge....

Per the R1 configurator wheels aren’t included with the darkout package. It has always been just badges & trim.

I would not be surprised if they do later on as I have seen multiple MVB's with dark 20's and 21's. Also interesting the new cross bars already come dark. I would assume the same dark out of the rear letters and front/rear underbody trim & tow hooks that are presently grey/silver. Remember a lot of this didn't come out for R1 until it was deep into production.

Yes it very much has the light grey or silver plastic fascia on the bottom of the front and rear bumpers. Those are “black” on the R1 blackout packages. I really hate that those areas on the R2. They gotta be black!
