Will post analysis summary of leasing and financing deals on vehicles here. All rates will assume excellent credit and leases will be based on 3 year, 30k miles. In most cases, subtract 1% for 36k miles and 3% for 45k miles off the residual amount.

Price analysis is based on existing inventory only as most offers state delivery must occur prior to the end of the month.

Fantastic, clean breakdown. Really glad you were able to get a stickied thread created for the evolving monthly offers and incentives. The best month-over-month improvements appear to be in the APR rates, whereas the lease rates overall appear worse than last month, sadly. Last month was an OK time to lease a Dual Standard - not anymore it seems.

I hope it is OK to share my own analyses compared with last month's. My figures are very similar to yours with some slight differences in residual value and money factor. I reckon this is due to differences in how destination fee is handled. It took me a lot of tinkering but my suspicion is that Rivian displays the vehicle price (not the MSRP, i.e. excluding the destination fee), BUT when they spit out a monthly lease rate, it includes the destination fee. Once you account for that, you'll see their residual values are actually clean, whole integers. Additionally, to my understanding, the buyer cap cost reduction is not necessary to obtain the lease APR. (It sometimes might be for a loan APR, however). With all that aside, I wanted to share some numbers. These estimates assume $0 down, destination fee included, acquisition fee/taxes and all other fees/deposits excluded, and all inventory eligible bonuses included:

June:

Rivian R1T R1S Rivian Monthly Offers/Incentives 1780786759753-1

Compared with May:

Rivian R1T R1S Rivian Monthly Offers/Incentives 1780786810434-q9

Feel free to play with the numbers and compare with April etc on this lease tracker. You can see essentially every trim is leasing worse compared to last month - the Dual Standard significantly so. Digesting the lease rates and the total cost of ownership compared between leasing vs financing, here are my takeaways for this month:

R1S:
  • Recommend financing an inventory DLP or DMP at one of the promotional rates with the $1,000 price reduction.
  • If dead-set on leasing, the DLP or DS are your best bets, but worse value compared to financing
R1T:
  • Recommend financing an inventory DLP or DMP at one of the promotional rates with the $1,000 price reduction.
  • Don't recommend leasing an R1T this month, period
Eagerly awaiting for June 9th to hear about the R2's (almost assuredly horrible, at least at launch) leasing/financing structure!
