What charging gear does R2 come with? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

FWIW - In all the time I've owned my 2018 Tesla Model 3 (with 139,000 miles on it), I've needed an adapter 3 times. Once with the mobile connector at an AirBnB so I could get a few miles on their outside 'household' plug. And twice in public places. The first was at a charger in the parking lot of a hospital while my wife was having a procedure, and the second was at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida which had some NACS and some J1772 ports. Many hotels have older J1772 cables because their chargers are intended for people doing overnight stays.

In 4 years of owning 2 EVs (CCS/J1772) I have used my adapters twice as well. While I don't use Tesla chargers (personal) I have the adapter just in case. There are plenty of chargers that are not NACS so adapters are the way

Again, who said they don’t? I would think they do. Did someone buy one in those states recently and Rivian said no you don’t get a charger?

I purchased a 26 Gen 2 R1T with NACS in December, bought and registered in California - included a J1772 adaptor, no charger or combo CCS adaptor. I wonder if the 2025 delivery date was a factor even though it is a 2026 model? A check of the website seems to indicate the same for current deliveries of R1s.

Luckily I pre-planned for this. No issues charging at home on my GM Powershit(sic) charger with their AC adapter.

Just in the Del Mar Space, and the Rivian salesperson told me the free portable charger I'm going to be getting with my R2 can do up to 32 amps. which turns out to be the maximum my 100-amp panel allows me to do anyway.

So, the Tesla charger I just bought for a great price goes back to BestBuy while I can still return it for no charge (sic)!

Colorado is one of the states that requires the 'discount' of each charging piece. When I was first invited to order my R2, I added each of the three pieces to my purchase, but after being assigned a VIN yesterday, it now shows each of the adapters and charger as 'Included" in the purchase and no price attached.

Almost certainly drop-shipped to you, since this is what Rivian has almost always done with accessories like adapters and floor mats and cross bars, etc.
